i know this is old news, but as i sit here, and ponder the upcoming agm, i can't help but think, " what happened?!!
" i actually awoke an hour before my alarm went off, just thinking of everything that is bothering me about the wtbts.
approach this list as a born-in, someone who was told that you were different from everyone else.

i attended the agm and god, it's as if they are trying to entettain the audience.
it is like they don't even have a regard to being serious anymore, which makes me sick.
how am i supposed to focus on what you're really trying to say if all most everything you do say is feignly amusing.
I agree with you, in fact the same witticism wisecracking nature is far too permeated within the organization, at least in our circuit. It's definitely something that needs to be kept in check for fear we become like the churches, wearing jeans for days of worship, and holding bingo nights. Or, turning a blind eye to serious matters such as heavy petting fooling ourselves thinking that its not a concern as its not fornication. Being a True Christian and practicing Pure Worship are not matters to be taken lightly. In my experiences the more lighthearted a congregation was, the more likely it had problems. That's not to say that as Christians we cant laugh or enjoy recreation, but for the most part we need to maintain discipline. These are serious times we live in and our outlook should reflect the same in harmony with 1 Pet 3:8,11; Titus 2:2, and especially Philippians 4:8.

Have to admit, I wasn't a fan of the gray cover either, but it's growing on me. More important though, is the content. It goes without saying that the NWT was already the most accurate Bible available in modern times, and now it's content is even more precise and more readable to boot.
can anyone save me the stress of listening to the self-appointed faithful & discreet slave for 3 hours, and give a clue as to roughly at what point in the proceedings was the derogatory term 'bum witnesses used, and by whom?
i'd really love to extract that comment and send it to a weakening witness, to highlight the judgmental arrogance and name-calling being displayed.. many thanks in advance folks!.
Thank you Splash. As usual the peaNut gallery here at JWN are grasping for anything to discredit and criticize the GB. Or they're looking too far into something said from the platform or in the literature. Just like the 1975 self-victims. They read one little thing and all of a sudden they thought the end was coming in 75". Now they're doing it all over again. Bums.

hmph, laugh now God-haters.
i think the real reason is that many when they are in their teens and able to start thinking for themselves end up leaving by the time they get out of home, never baptized, and still continuing assocation with their family.
the wt doesn't like this loophole, so they are hoping to get them baptised before their teen years so that if they wake up and decide to leave, they will be dfed.
hoping to keep them trapped and be trapped before they understand the religion.
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."- Matt 19:14
Our young ones recognize even at a young age the value of becoming a dedicated servant of Jehovah. However, they may hesitate to get baptized for a variety of reasons. That said, it's a fine thing for parents to reassure and encourage their children to not prolong time before making their dedication. Some parents may not be cognizant of this responsibility and the Slave saw fit to mention this. Truly food at the proper time.
an annual meeting is a legal requirement for a corporation.. the watchtower annual meeting (agm) is a legal event that has become the biggest spiritual event of the year, overshadowing what is supposed to be the most important event, the memorial of christ's death.. praise be to the governing buddies who sit on the throne of christ..
Searcher, I think you have it wrong, and I only say think because its possible things might be different in the UK. I'm in the US, and here its open to ALL baptized and ALL unbaptized publishers including their children. Last year we had tickets with elders, pioneers, and ministerial servants at the front of the line to recieve. Any extra tickets were then distributed to other active publishers in good standing. Without tickets this year, there is no way for attendants to turn anyone away at the front door, hence it's open to all publishers including the unbaptized and their children. Your name is The Searcher, I'm sure if you looked hard enough you'd likely find a copy of the letter detailing the change for this year on this forum. Now chop-chop boy.

While it's true that this meeting is a legal requirement, credit should be given to the organization for obeying Caesar's law as it does not interfere with God's law. It should also be pointed out that this meeting is NOT overshadowing the Memorial. True, opening this meeting to all in the Christian congregation, baptized or not is unprecedented, but even more important is that it was the loving and inclusive thing to do. Some attending for the first time are a bit overly excited and I hope this event will prove to be of much encouragement to them.
Ironically, it appears that the apostate community is more interested in this event than the ones actually attending this event for the first time. Too bad ex-JWs are incapable of organizing their own annual meeting, corporate requirement or not. I guess such disorganization is the result of these ones losing the pure language. As a result they're incapable of a unified approach towards building a tower to the heavens and have to settle with confused language and being dispersed throughout the landscape.
very interesting video from futurist james burke.

rockville, md.
(wjla) - a rockville church is at odds with its neighbors.
Funny. The neighbors didn't care about the property until God's people renovated it and turned dirt into diamonds. Our brothers wish to continue elevating the stature of the property THAT THEY OWN, but the neighbors don't like it. This neighbors' hearts have grown obstinate like Pharaoh and wont let Jehovah's people go on about their business despite it benefitting their community. Once again unbeliever are cutting their nose to spite their face. Pitiful.
